The story

Seoul's K-DRAMA EXHIBITION — Scenes to Destinations can be a useful first stop for turning screen memories into Korea trip ideas. It runs from 18 September to 19 November 2026 at HiKR Ground 4F. Its QR-based suggestions are a discovery tool: they do not establish that a filming location is open, easy to reach or bookable.

For a visitor already spending time in Seoul, the appeal is a chance to find a destination that matches a particular interest before committing to a longer journey. The planning work begins where the exhibition ends.

Five memories, then a destination prompt

The official exhibition page describes five elements: SCRIPT, SCENE, SOUND, PROP and LOCATION. Visitors collect one memory from each, then scan the QR codes on the five pieces to discover Korea destinations matched to their tastes and preferences.

That mechanism connects a response to drama with possible places to explore. It does not, on the evidence checked, supply a complete itinerary. The full destination list and language coverage are not established, so travellers should avoid building a route around an assumed match before seeing the result.

The exhibition is organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Korea Tourism Organization and Studio Dragon, with CJ ENM sponsorship. This is tourism-industry promotion. Its selections can introduce ideas beyond Seoul, but their appearance in an exhibition is not an independent assessment of visitor access or travel value.

Put the Seoul visit in the right window

The HiKR Ground venue information lists the address as 40 Cheonggyecheon-ro, Jung-gu, Seoul. Floors 1–4 operate Tuesday–Sunday, 10:00–20:00, with last admission until 20 minutes before closing. Monday is their regular closure.

General admission is free unless a paid program is separately notified. These are venue terms; the checked pages do not establish an exhibition-specific registration, queue or paid-program procedure. Recheck the venue and event pages before visiting, particularly if this is a tightly timed stop.

A practical approach is to fit the exhibition into an existing Seoul day and leave room to explore the suggestions afterwards. There is no verified visit-duration estimate in the checked material, and free admission does not mean a particular entry time is guaranteed.

A screen connection is not permission to enter

After a QR result, identify what the suggested place actually is. A displayed scene, prop, photo zone, studio set or nearby attraction should not be treated as an accessible filming location without separate confirmation. The difference matters when deciding whether to add a detour or an overnight stay.

Check the destination's own current information for transport, opening hours, seasonal operation, reservations and photography rules. Establish which part visitors can enter and whether the screen connection refers to that accessible space. Then compare the journey with the time available in the rest of the itinerary. These are editorial planning recommendations, not services confirmed to be provided by the exhibition.

The strongest case for the event is that a free orientation can help a first-time visitor discover an interest they would otherwise miss. The reasonable objection is that an appealing scene may produce a destination wish without solving the journey. Both can be true: inspiration has value, while a workable route needs another layer of checks.

No representative attendance, booking, destination-click, resident-impact or post-visit outcome dataset was established in the research. The exhibition's success at spreading travel beyond Seoul therefore remains an open question. Use it to generate possibilities, then choose the trip on the strength of verified access and a realistic schedule.
