Thang Long Imperial Citadel anchors Hanoi's 1–4 October 2026 World Culture Festival. A 3 October parade adds a distinct city experience; a separate village visit is described for delegates, so ordinary visitors should not assume access.

The festival's city plan names Thang Long Imperial Citadel, Hoan Kiem walking street and the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism. They are not interchangeable public stops. With one day, start at the citadel. Add Hoan Kiem if the parade date fits; treat the village programme as an access question.
The reliable centre, with admission details still to come
The city places the World Culture Village, music and food at Thang Long Imperial Citadel from 1 to 4 October. Vietnam Government News describes opening and closing events there, plus film, fashion and festival games. The date range does not mean every activity runs throughout each day.
The heritage centre lists normal sightseeing hours. Those are not festival admission rules. Check the final schedule, entry hours and any ticket or registration requirement before travelling for a performance.
The second stop has a specific date
The city plan schedules a street parade at Hoan Kiem walking street on 3 October, 09:00–11:00. Visitors there that morning have a reason to consider a two-part day. Visitors on 1, 2 or 4 October should not expect the parade as a daily feature.
The plan does not establish a final viewing route, street controls or transfer time between Hoan Kiem and the citadel. A wider itinerary offers variety but uses time at the main site. Confirm access and transport notices before committing to both.
On 2 October, the plan describes the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism programme as a delegate visit. It does not confirm entry for ordinary festival visitors. The village may have separate visitor operations, but festival access, hours and tickets remain unconfirmed. Do not reserve a transfer solely because it appears in the venue list.
Make the choice from confirmed access
For food, performances and country displays, start with the citadel's final programme. For the street parade, keep 3 October morning open and look for an official viewing notice. Ask organisers about the village programme before treating it as a third public stop.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's August announcement recorded 39 confirmed participating countries as of 7 August. That is planning context, not a final count or crowd forecast. The unresolved question is how much of the advertised multi-venue programme will be usable by an ordinary visitor.
